IPPUDO!

Curtis and I decided we should go back to Ippudo . We waited almost an hour, but we really wanted it! We enjoyed the interior design and all the wall art.
We got this Pork Bun. It was so delicious! It has a sweet BBQ-like sauce on the pork. The steamed bun, lettuce and pork are the best combination!

Curtis got the Shoyu ramen, and I got the "Modern" ramen. The funny thing is that they stamped their name on the egg .... Look at Curtis's face, he is just too happy to be here! haha

Takoyaki!

Takoyaki is a Japanese dumpling made of batter, octopus, tempura scraps, pickled ginger, topped with okonomiyaki sauce, mayonnaise, and katsuobushi (fish shavings).

Van Leeuwen Ice Cream

After diner at Basta Pasta we grabbed our favorite ice cream on the street, Van Leeuwen. I chose Ginger while Melody had Hazelnut. It's a step up from Mr. Softee, and they have a nice identity as well.

Basta Pasta

Basta Pasta is a japanese style Italian pasta restaurant. The front of the house has a bar and open kitchen, and the dinning room has a simple elegance to it. We started with the Tuna Tartar, which was perfect for a warm day. I had their signature Spaghetti Con Prosciutto E Parmigiano. It's prepared table-side in a large hallowed out wheel of parmigiana reggiano with lots of butter, and then topped with prosciutto. Excellent! Melody had the Tagliolini Con Ragu Di Pesce, which had a more spicy side to it, also quite good. This was an all around great experience, and basta pasta has an excellent staff.

Dessert round 2

After our three year anniversary diner we still hadn't had enough dessert. So later that night we stopped in the Japanese grocery store, Jas Mart, for some Japanese snacks. I had a soft cheese cake bread and melody had some kind of strawberry yogurt jelly. I also had some carrot vegetable juice.

Sharing Little D

After eating at Fette Sau the night before Field decided to carry on with the heavy meals at brunch. We brought him to our favorite brunch spot, Little D, where he ordered the biscuits and gravy. Another meal to honor our Iowa roots.

The Mermaid Inn

To celebrate our 3-year anniversary, we decided to try out The Mermaid Inn (this place was kinda famous of their seafood & their chocolate pudding...). We had Skillet Roasted mussels for an appetizer. Curtis had the Grilled Mahi Mahi and I had Spaghetti with Shrimp, scollops, octopus... And we got FREE chocolate puddings!!!! So good!
